Upgrading of Oworonsoki Primary Healthcare Centre

Provision of Hospital Furniture, Medical Consumables & Drugs to Oworonsoki Primary Healthcare Centre

It is a District driven project in Disease Prevention and Treatment including Maternal and Child Health whereby the District provided 70% of the funds and 2 Clubs matched the remaining 30%. Oworonsoki is a community common to the two Clubs- RC Gbagada and Gbagada South.

A Needs Assessment of the PHC revealed the need to replace old furniture and supply medical consumables, and commonly prescribed drugs that are always in short supply because of the large number of patients, mothers and babies that visit the PHC. Oworonshoki is a densely populated community.

The PHC caters for over a thousand patients, mothers and children daily. Present at the commissioning were the stakeholders from the State Primary Healthcare Board, staff of the PHC, community leaders, beneficiaries, and Rotarians.

They expressed their appreciation to the kind gesture of Rotary and promised that the furniture will be put to good use, while hoping for more support in the replenishment of the consumables.
